WANGSA GRILL BY CHEF ZUBIR.....WORTH IT?

It was recently opened for customers. One of the trendy restaurant in the Wangsa Maju side of town. Situated at the new shopping area not far from the Wangsa Melawati mosque. Owned by Chef Zubir, his third restaurant.
I visited the place 3 times in September 2013. (11, 19, and 23rd September 2013)
The décor is nice but the tables are limited. The crowd was good and I had to eat elsewhere on my second visit there as the place was full. Prices are just like other upscale restaurant.

I do not have great things to tell about the place. All my visits there was not well greeted. No one was waiting for us at the front door. My family and I had to find our own seats.
The menu was extensive. My wife called it fusion. It has Asian, Mexican, and Western food on the menu.

My first was a laugh when I found out that there was not enough cups to go around!!!! hahahaha!! This is a celebrity chef restaurant, and such things should not happened!!! Its not a big place, hardly 25 tables!!!! COMMON!!

Personally, I never met Chef Zubir. He was in the kitchen, supposedly cooking! I had no idea how was his food but since he is the Malaysia's Masterchef judge, the food MUST be great.
BUT all my expectations died when the first meal served, the NACHOS...I have eated so many nachos before and this was one of the worst. It was tasteless!! Chilly filled with no cheese taste! The rest was simply awful!
 NACHO'S

QUESADILLA
My third trip was more interesting. My kids still wanted to taste this famous chef's food.
My wife ordered Mee Kari while my kids ordered Pan Braised Chicken "dome". Presentation was great but the food were still not up to mark! Worst of all, I found onion skins in the Chicken roll..Kulit Bawang!!!!! Gordon Ramsay, where are you????
MEE KARI
(the best food I have tasted from the menu)

 PAN BRAISED CHICKEN "DOME"
 the onion skin!!!!!!!!!!

BANANA SPLIT
The banana split was awful.. banana was small, the waffle was not crispy..as my daughters said "masuk angin" The ice cream was not great...We all had eaten better dessert than this!!!
CONCLUSION:
There's too much hype about Chef Zubir. I would not recommend this restaurant to any of my friends. Smaller diners like "My Little Gerai" which served similar food deserved much better rating than this.
Chef Zubir may attract the Malay crowd but not the other races! He has still long way to go to be a recognizable and talented chef! He may have worked in many hotels but I have eaten in many great places too. Sorry, you are not my Wolfgang Puck or Tetsuya!
Decor: great, Food presentation : great...FOOD : NOT RECOMMENDED
